Hello, i haven’t  lately because I am in the process of moving. I have to get my licence transferred from California to Colorado.  I have been thinking once I get settled in how to generate business for doing nails.  Of course my resume for work outlines all the Nail industry work I have had so I can aquaint business owners with my skill while I am searching for a regular job in the evening to help with the bills.  I also want to visit  the high schools in the area and see if I can place ads, such as in yearbooks, or special programs they run that have advertisers to help get the word out once I find a salon to work in.  I also want to search in my kid’s school for future business I might encounter with the teachers, aids, etc. 

A website is a must, so when people in the are go hunting for your city and salons they can find you.  There are free search engines you can apply with once you get a website up so people who search for salons in the beauty industry can find right where you are.   Another idea is I need to have my nails done extra spec ial so I can advertise to those who look for a good nail tech by what they see.

In the other post I mentioned free brochure program, I might try printing them out and mailing them to local post office boxes maybe 20 a week to help generate work.

I am going to miss all of my clients,  they have become good friends and a great way to make new friends.  I also heard them say they have friends or family where I am moving too and I thought that was a good idea to have them spread the word I was going that way so when I get there if any of  their friends or relatives are in need of my services they can send them my way.

So if you are a nail tech in a new town these are some ways to consider making your Nail business boom.

I’ve been having some nail tech’s write in with holiday dol drums about not having a load of business for the holiday’s. The nail tech’s are excited about the holiday rush but they have to be willing to make it happen.  For many of us in the business for a while; it’s easier to sit and wait for people to walk in instead of going out and getting new customers.   That began my search on the Internet for new things to help hand out to make myself known in places I don’t normally hang out. (outside my home town)

For a list of things to make on the Internet you can start by your current customers. Have each client fill out a name, contact and email form for you to update your database. So when you come up with these clever ideas you will have somewhere to send them too.

Lot’s of people who are or had kids are coming into the shop. Acetone is carcinogenic, this means “Cancer causing”;   Just like the gas pumps warn about the fumes at the gas pump. Gas is also carcinogenic.

So if you are a new “To Be” mom you can put your mind to ease about the most asked question in the beauty salon.

I have had it done by Leila at http://www.leilahairextensions.com and it works great. I fell in love with it and refer her to anyone for feet and nails.  It was a great pedicure! And easy to use not as much elbow grease for the manicurist.

This is new I was visiting http://www.Salongeeks.comand seen this nifty invention called Popits in Britian (Dual System Forms from Ys nails in America) http://ysnails.com/ its a inverted nail mould system. VIDEO HERE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qcIKRuk2pU I thought this was pretty nifty to use the underside of a clear full well nail tip to construct your design and then turn it over and lay it on top of the nail for no buffing or filling. i have not tried it yet to see if it works but the concept is pretty intriguing. I was just wondeering if the full well tip from easy flow works the same way?

 This is a great Nails magazine to read. This featured article is about the extreme point on a french tip.  Also for the season being in October this might come back into style for a few. Disneyland opened the new Innovations in May and it’s a whole new theme. It’s a house of the future and everything in it is actually for sale somewhere in the world. I have quite a few clients that have bought season passes for the year and the Halloween trick or treat night is also coming up. Of course i do not endorse Halloween but where else can you get bags loads of candy and it’s a safe place to be.

i have uploaded a new way to make an appointment. I hope this section is easier to work with for people who cannot use the old way I had set up. Your appointment calendar is set up through Yahoo calendar, so you can add the opening to our own calendar for your records. Also if you have Gmail through the google toolbar you can right click and opening and send it through gmail. and it will directly be sent to my cell phone so I can be sure to save that slot time just for you.

If you are interested in magazine art this takes two hours to book a slot so you need to find two time slots back to back open. And book them both.
